Note: Please search above for your specific mail client for more detailed instructions.

Note: This article will help you configure insecure access to your email. This is more convenient for setup but means your email can theoretically be intercepted by third parties. If you prefer, you can secure your email using this article.

A desktop client is something like OutlookThunderbirdWindows Live Mail, etc. These clients can interact with your email account using one of two services; POP or IMAP. POP (or POP3) is an older service which was designed for a single computer. IMAP is a newer service and is recommended, particularly if you have a computer, laptop, smartphone, iPad, etc. as it keeps your mail in sync across multiple devices.

If you are experienced in configuring your email client and just need our settings, please see below for generic setting details. Otherwise please search the knowledgebase for your specific client to receive detailed instructions. Please note that at some point during the setup process or your first send/receive batch, you will be prompted with a warning about a self-signed security certificate. This is totally normal and you should accept/override/acknowledge the message.
